This may seem like a duplicate article or a drum that gets beat once too many times, but I cannot begin to explain enough how God must be in the center of our lives. Also the fact that as frustrating as our task may be when compared to the task of others, God is still in the midst of it all when we do as He asks.
As you know we are raising awareness and funds through recycling (paper, cardboard, and bottles/cans). Talk about a long and boring task. I know, you are tired of hearing recycling, recycling, recycling…. but its hard not to talk about it when God shows off so well! Well God cares for something as simple (and exhausting) as recycling. When following God, there seems to be no logic. You can look at all the miracles performed and how they were performed in the Bible. No miracle was as the Pharisees expected or taught. Miracles totally out of the ordinary. But God has a purpose for everything even if it includes deepening our own faith. Today I received some unexpected recycling reprieve in a truly wonderful way!
Lately, one of the biggest issues I deal with is people’s lack of commitment. For a short time period a week, we look for volunteers with some muscle to help unload a trailer. I ask people repeatedly. There are people who will say they will do it then back out or commit to something else. It is one of the things that really drives me crazy! I would like the commitment to help follow my doctors orders to take it easy (HA!). So today, it was back to the adults taking care of business. I was not really in the mood to unload almost a whole truck by myself while the other adults sorted at the end of the trailer (safety concerns) because I am still sore and achy from a long week, and I couldn’t get the boys again from last week. Long and boring right? That’s when we get to see God in the midst.
The recycling plant was slow today and when we backed in, all the area was clear when we pulled in to the dock bay. We were told to back up next to the conveyor in the floor so things could go right in and to the baler. We drop the ramp of the trailer, go to unload and all of a sudden 3 or 4 of the workers come from nowhere. They actually handled all the unloading of the trailer!! We were basically told to just stand aside! Can I tell you thank God for the miracles??? The guys had so much fun unloading the cardboard, they were cardboard surfing down the piles I had stacked really tight in the trailer. It was a riot to watch them actually playing and laughing. They unloaded our whole trailer (2,300 lbs) in like 15 minutes. They were having a great time! I know I sure was because myself and the other adults at the end were like, “Whew! That was a lot of hard work!” and we started laughing knowing full well, it was awesome not to lift a finger!
GOD IS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! Take a look at the guys unloading for us!!
